Today I kept my niece, 5 years old, and Anna. They love each other so much, that sometimes that can get in the way. I now know how it can be with 2 children. I do think I can do it, maybe when Anna gets a little older, but it was a learning experience.
It started early with painting, art, playing outside, watching movies, etc. I felt like I never stopped all day. I actually forgot to eat lunch for the first time in a long time. That could be a good thing. lol After our busy morning and naps when attempted to go shopping for some birthday gifts and an LSU football tshirt (we are going to the homecoming game in November for David's birthday!!! and I can not wait!!). I am used to diapers and changing on my schedule, unless it is a real diaper load. Well, Brenna decided she needed to go to the potty first thing at the first store (after I asked her many times this morning if she needed to go, with the response of NO). That was not too bad because we had just gotten started. Well after shopping and finding what we needed, at the checkout she needed to potty AGAIN. What am I to do, make her wait or go. Well she proceeded to tell me she needed to "poopoo". So leaving everything we go to the potty for the second time. Lets just say I am not used to having to potty in public places with a 5 year old. Needless to say we made it, but my heart goes out to all of those who have more than one child and all those other issues. I can not wait for Anna to get out of diapers, but I am not ready for public restrooms. lol
We did well today and are actually ready for bed and it is only 8:55. Not to say all days go that well, but I am proud that I actually did it. The only thing I am not proud of, is that I said some things today that I always said I never would. Nothing in particular, but things we heard as children from our parents. That is really scary.
I also need to add on to the word list for Anna. I forgot a few favorites like:
Bye Bye (She wakes up saying bye bye, she is a real go getter and social butterfly. There are days I want to stay home, but feel bad when she keeps saying "bye bye" and I don't take her anywhere. Lisa if you are reading, I think Anna may end up being a RED also.)
Thank you- It is more like 2 grunts, but it is used in the correct context that we think it is the same.

Weekends, Weekends, Weekends
Well, I am starting a blog to document our very busy lives. I love being busy, but sometimes we can be too busy. Now that I am a Stay At Home mom with a 1 year old, I want to take some time to slow down and blog what is going on in our lives.
David always tells me I create my on misery, but I honestly love doing all that I do. I am busy with Anna, but I love to do for other people. Now that I am a SAHM, I have more time to do those things that I could never do. Whether it be babysitting, having playdates, cooking for others, running errands, visting, etc., I just love it.
Weekends always seem to be so busy. We may start out with nothing planned, but by Sunday evening we are exhausted. It is a time to catch up with family and friends and each other. There is always housework, shopping and the usual, but we seem to plan 100 other things in the time that is left over. This weekend we set up for the annual "Young Family Garage Sale" Friday night and really had too much fun. After many margaritas and wine, we were ready for the hagglers. Saturday morning was too early (5:15am), but our efforts paid off to sell our JUNK. We made about $400, which is great for our area. I really felt good after we donated to items left to the Women's Shelter and Goodwill. Then it was off to the grocery store to prepare our dinner. It was great and really had a nice night with my niece and friend Carey. Anna, our daughter, played with her cousin Anna and really learned a lot. Thanks to Aunt Carey, they learned to do the "water sprinkler" in their dance routines, after we played "Dance Party USA". Sundays are always relaxing and refreshing. Church, family and good food. Now we are settling down for the night and preparing for the next week ahead, which will be busy with my Grandfather's 80th birthday party, my Dad's birthday party and Halloween. I hope everyone has a great week. And remember, slow down.
Hopefully this blog will keep you up to date and keep me sane. LOL
Enjoy!
